We have recently completed work on a new toilet block for the students at St Monfort College for the visually impaired.
The previous pit latrines at St Monfort were washed away in the floods of 2018 during the rainy season. The visual impaired learners had to leave the hostel gated complex and walk to the school block at night to access the school toilets.
St Joseph’s Church on New Zealand Road, Cardiff, raised in excess of £700 during their 2019 Lenten appeal which allowed us to build a new toilet block within the hostel grounds. Work started in April 2019 and was completed by October 2019. The block was officially opened by Canon Roy Doxsley during our November trip to Malawi.
Many thanks to the Parishioners of St Joseph’s for their generosity.
