According to the WHO, cataracts are responsible for 51% of blindness globally. Sight can be restored with an operation that takes just 20 minutes, but many people in Malawi do not have access to affordable healthcare.

We are working closely with Zomba Central Hospital to increase the number of cataract operations being performed in Malawi. We arrange for groups of UK-based medical staff to visit Zomba, not only to run clinics and perform operations, but also to train local staff in order to provide ongoing, sustainable eyecare services.

Restore a person's sight for just £60!

In January 2023 we performed the first cataract operations at Mulanje Mission Hospital in Malawi. We hope to fund more operations in the near future and would be grateful for any donations!
