Cataract Surgeries

We have been visiting Malawi to perform cataract operations since 2008, working alongside and training local surgeons. We have brought donated equipment from the UK and have helped to restore sight to hundreds of people.

Our most recent trip was in April 2022. We have been forming a new partnership with a hospital in Mulanje, which is setting up new eye unit from scratch. The construction on the building itself is now nearly complete and we hope to be performing the first cataract operations at the hospital in early 2023.  In the meantime we are continuing to work with Zomba Central Hospital and are planning to perform some more cataract operations there in November 2022.
