Sight 2020 announce formal partnership with Mulanje Mission Hospital

Sight 2020 Direct are pleased to announce that we have now established a formal partnership with Mulanje Mission Hospital. We have agreed a memorandum of understanding, which outlines the ways in which our organisations will work together to provide good quality ophthalmology and rehabilitation services for the people of Mulanje.

Trustee Geoff Yeldham, who signed the document on behalf of the charity, said “I had the pleasure of meeting Clinical Director Dr Arie Glas and his team when we visited Mulanje last April and I am excited about our ongoing work with them. The staff at the hospital had a clear vision for the Eye Clinic and Rehabilitation Centre and we have been immensely impressed with how much progress has been made in the last year. As well as setting out how we will continue to support Mulanje Mission Hospital with equipment and advice, this agreement also describes how we will fund cataract surgery at the hospital going forward. We hope that this is the start of a long and fruitful collaboration”.
