Rehabilitation Unit now open at Mulanje Mission Hospital

The rehabilitation unit at MMH has opened last month and is now providing care to both children and adults suffering from a range of conditions, such as stroke, burns and amputations. Sight 2020 Direct’s Sally Feyi-Waboso is working alongside Eunice, a newly appointed rehab technician with a diploma in medical rehabilitation, to provide daily outpatient clinics.

Over the last few weeks Sally and Eunice have been purchasing, cleaning and sorting equipment turning the newly constructed clinic building into a fully functioning unit. They have also been teaching other staff at the hospital, so that they are aware of the treatments that are being provided and informing them which patients they should be looking to refer.
